10 Questions To Ask Your Doctor Before Taking A Prescription Drug

Here is another useful piece of information from The Health Crusader

  1. How many fatalities have been reported from the use of this drug you are prescribing for me?

  2. How long do you anticipate I will be taking this drug?

  3. Would you prescribe this drug for yourself or one of your family members if they were in a similar situation?

  4. Does this drug have any known cancer-causing side effects?

  5. Do you receive any direct or indirect compensation for prescribing this drug?

  6. Have you been fully informed of the adverse reactions associated with this drug by the pharmaceutical rep visiting your clinic?

  7. Have you personally or anyone in your group been accused and/or prosecuted for malpractice at any time?

  8. Are there any hidden or illegal surcharges that you have tacked onto my bill?

  9. Since you have informed me of my medical condition and the risks and benefits associated with treatment, would you please explain to me what appropriate alternatives are available to drugs?

  10. Would you be willing to sign and complete the following medical consent form to fully explain the risks and benefits of each drug in layman's terms to I can make an informed decision?

I would be very surprised if any medical doctor would consent to answering these questions. You see, by asking such pointed questions, you are holding him accountable for his actions toward you. Getting him to put his response in writing should prove to be even more difficult, but I think going through the process might be very eye-opening for you and I do suggest you try it the next time your doctor prescribes a drug for you to use. Personally, I think it is about time the shoe went on the other foot. Instead of indiscriminately calling alternative practitioners "quacks" and throwing them in jail, it's about time we started holding some M.D.'s accountable as well.
